Artist's Comments

a friend of mine is looking to get her first tattoo... so I came up with this concept. not sure if she'll like it or not, but i do. this is my second ever design intended for tattoo ... i don't have a copy of the first design i did, but am getting a picture of the finished result in a couple days, i'll post when i do. anyway, point is, critique is welcome and appreciated... but please bear in mind that my scanning of this piece didn't go so well, so the 'jaggies' present here are not on the actual piece. (tips on how to scan the image successfully would be great :)

Nice design. It has a good flow & rhythm... depending on where she might want the tatt on her body, it could be adjusted to the lines of her body. One thing to consider is the amount of space between the lines. If the tattoo is going to small-ish, there might be some bleeding of ink where the shapes sit next to each other. Especially as the tatt gets older. :-)

:twocents: As far as scanning goes, don't scan as line art, scan in grayscale at a higher res and level it in Photoshop (if it needs it).

thanks for the +fav and the great comments :)

as for the scanning, i wasn't too far off, which is very reassuring. i think i played with both line art and grayscale, and figured out the greyscale being better bit (heh. many 'b' sounds that). didn't think of resolution (/me is a tard at times) ... thanks for the tip!
